Look at these Easter Angels... EASTER WEEK 2006
In a departure from my "plan" to chronologically leave a legacy for All the Loves of My Life, I must share the events of the past week as I ponder all that has happened in just one short week.
As we looked at Jesus' "Last week," it seemed to me that our own week was proceeding only because of Jesus' last week. And because of that solemn last week, our "weeks" have hope, are linked to His sufferings, and are filled with so much joy. Here are just a few glimpses of our "last week."
Last Sunday at the Church at Rocky Peak an interactive reinactment of the Last Week...
Steve and Matty Thomas going to the Getty this past Saturday morning...My beloved Cousin Jean--we're praying for recovery so she can get home to Colorado this week...
Mike & Aunt M 85 Years Young at the Getty! TA portion of The Crucifixion, by Jan Styka -- 195ft x 45ft Friday night at Forest Lawn for the unveiling of the newly renovated mural...
Mom and Dad at the Getty Gardens...
Where are all the Easter bonnets?
Fred attended Hollywood Bowl's Easter Sunrise Service and said the tears flowed as the program was beautiful. Then Daniel and I bought flowers and visited Andy's graveside. Then the family came and we had a relaxing day together that included Bob showing his tribute to Grampy from a presentation he did last week, we all thrilled to a video clip of Wade winning a hurdle, and the little ones blasted on through the traditional Easter egg hunt. Then we gathered around the computer again and viewed Annie's blog and the 20+ inches of snow that had them snowed in and all dressed up for church--their "week" is progressing rather slowly as they wait for their new baby to come on the 20th! Isaac's week was busy hosting a friend after Easter church. Now as "the Week" comes to a close, we are encouraged to hear Jean is holding on and there is some improvement.
How could the God of the universe have done such a mighty work on the Cross and we some 2000+ years later live out our weeks' so often barely even aware of His last week? The event that not only changed history, but made it so we could know Him and the power of His sufferings and His resurrection--that we too might live... What a week it was, my Loves.
